Bart M. Betteau

Bart M. Betteau, is a native of LaPorte, Indiana, he received his A.B., Wabash College, Magna Cum Laude, J.D., Indiana University School of Law, practices in the field of criminal defense and has handled many civil rights cases. His criminal work predominately involves higher level offenses and zealous representation of those whose cases are considered beyond all hope.

His cases are reflected in many reported decisions and even resulted in the creation of a new criminal statute. Bart’s civil rights work has affected countless people in that he believes it contributed to the building or renovation of several jails and the discontinuation of wide ranging polices concerning strip searching of inmates and the assessment of “book-in” fees. Bart is a past present member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, NACDL, National College of DUI Defense and the ACLU, Floyd County Bart Association, Indiana Bar Association, Association of Southern Indian Criminal Defense Attorneys.

Christen Bezy Harris, Paralegal

Christen “Chris” Bezy Harris is a native of Floyds Knobs, Indiana. She is graduate of Our Lady of Providence and received her Paralegal Certificate from Indiana University Southeast. Chris has attended numerous training seminars as well as assisted in instructing. Chris has been involved in the preparation of trial in numerous felony and misdemeanor cases, including, but not limited to, several murder trials, child molestation, methamphetamine case, battery, and operating while intoxicated. Chris has worked in the legal field since 1992 and has worked with Bart since May, 2000. Chris attends all trials with Bart and works very closely on all his cases.
In addition to her busy work schedule, Chris has a very active family life. She is a single mother of a teenage son. Chris also volunteers for the JDRF and is an active member of her church.
